F1 Today: Jordan launches 1998 car

Jordan officially presented their new car for the 1998 season today in
the Royal Albert Hall in London.

At the launch, the team also announced Pedro de la Rosa as their
official test driver for the 1998 season.

1996 World Champion Damon Hill, who switched from TWR Arrows to the
team of Eddie Jordan, warned his arch-rival Michael Schumacher that he
will again be up-front. Michael's brother, Ralf Schumacher, will help
Damon whenever he can to do so. "Ralf also wants to beat his brother
very much, so we should get on just fine," said Hill today.

Damon Hill said to be confident about his chances to win races, but
stayed realistic to see that they won't be fighting for the
championship this year. "We can win races, and it's my goal to win
Jordan's first Grand Prix and participate in building a team which can
go on to win the World Championship. But we must be realistic and it
will be tough for us to fight for the championship right now.".

Both drivers will receive equal treatment within team. "We don't have
a number one or number two driver," said team owner Eddie Jordan.
"It's our policy that each driver is given equal opportunity to
display his talent and the best should win. We race as a team and will
support whichever driver is in the best position to fulfil the team's

newly build Jordan 198 at the Circuit of Catalunya this week. Damon
Hill will there have his first run with the Jordan.
