That has to be the dumbest piece or circuit design I've ever seen. All
those walls so close to the circuit. Especially the last complex of corners
leading onto the start/finish straight. Petrov did what I thought more than
one person would do as well.

It looks like it could be a good circuit if it had run-off.

Yep, they now build street circuits out in the open.

I dunno, I kind of like that last corner. They all know that there's
the straight coming up but because it is so narrow you have to wait
and wait to get you foot into it. Must feel really gratifying when you
get it just right.

Apparently that is the intention. The 'street circuit' part (sector 3) will,
in fact, become streets of the town that it is intended to build.

That corner is a series of accidents waiting to happen:  the pit-in
aspect, the wall on outside, and the right-left jink around the gator
teeth onto the S/F straight.

Well, if it were easy, then anyone could do it.  These guys are paid
to drive, and driving includes being aware of all things happening
around you.

Right.  Same was said about Armco and post/chain link fence barriers.

Ask Nico if he agrees with that line of thought

And no predicted tragedy for Monaco?  With even less run-off.

Last time there was a "run off" problem at Monaco the run off was the
harbour. Ascari, 1955. Hay bales proved an inadequate means of arresting
an F1 car's progress.

The little spot at St. Devote has had its fans and three point turners
over the years, as has the one at Mirabeau. (Not forgetting the escape
road at the chicane.)

It did look like all the corners and turns flowed somewhat nicely together
and not too disconjointed like so man of the
other Tilke tracks do.  The over all shap of the track reminded me of
Sepang.

Well he admitted he chose the wrong direction to avoid Webber. NASCAR
says steer into where the car is at that moment and it will be gone by
the time you get there. That may have worked for Nico.

Oh don't be like that, your mother will have to cuff you one if you
keep it up.
