If the poor guy had a good car he would probably be the only competition for
Shcumie.

First of all it's Schumie , secondly its Coultard with a d and thirdly
IN YOUR DREAMS: AKA Last year he had The best car and he even wasn't
competetion to Damon.(This year he is not all that much better than Mika
Hakkinen)

Lets get it right it Coulthard not Coultart or Coultard

Maybe my memory serves me wrong but Coulthard was strong opposition for Hill
last year chances are if he hadnt been plagued with tonsilitis <sp> at the
start of the season and then mechanical problems he would have probably beat
Damon in the championship .

And fourthly, it's coulthard with an H, and Fifthly, I agree. Damon is a
great driver, and seeing as he was better than DC last year, and DC is better
than Mika this year, we can conclude, especially since Damons vast improvements
(commented upon by Bernie Ecclestone, Frank Williams, Flavio Briatore, Eddie Jordan,
Ron Dennis, to name but a few) that Damon is a better driver than the much praised
Mika Hakkinen.

And why do people keep on saying how bad Damon was at Barcelona? He is better
than Schumie in the wet:

1)  Brazil. Hill Lapped Schumie.
2)  Monaco. After Schumies Dumb mistake under pressure, Hill pulled out a 12 Second
lead in the first 5 or so laps.
3)  Barcelona. The mechanics ***ed about with his set up. Even they addmitted
that it would have made the car virtually impossibe to control.
4)  There is no way that the ferrari is as bad as people make it out to be - Irvine
has had little testing. I get the feeling Irvine would be doing better in the Jordan.

Sam.

I would have prefered an opinion, instead of a letter count.  Misspelling does not eliminate an opinion or statement.
I, for one, still believe that Coulthard is a more promissing driver than Hill will ever be. The difference is that
the former does not have a name to insult, and pockets full of somedody's else  cash, as the later does.

Damon Hill reminds me of Paul Tracy; cannot concentrate for a full race, very bad jugements and incompatible
with team mates. A HOT HEAD... !

Eh?  Whose cash does Hill have in his pockets and how can I get some
of it?  He gets on with his team mates, shares a joke with them and
more importantly shares info about the car with them.  A lot of
drivers would be happy with a team mate that "incompatible".

True but ignorance and stupidity does.  The original posting was from someone whose idea
of intelligent discourse was to use obscenities and to call anyone who disagreed with
him names.  When this kind of message is combined with spelling and grammer so bad that
it was hard to follow the message, what one is left with is the inescapable conclusion
that the poster was very ignorant or very unintelligent or both.

Excuse me, but he set 5 poles and kicked everyones ***at Estoril. Sure
he made some mistakes (warm up spins, pit wall) but he's still learning, and many results
(Argentina, Monaco, Spa, Monza) were lost to mechanical difficulties.
So Ian will learn
to spell because of everyone correcting him here, that's good.
You obviously have no clue that Coulthard had the measure of Hill last
year, once he recovered from tonsilitis, learned the car, and got more experience.
I've been chastised, and rightly so, for making blanket statements without enough fact,
so I'm trying to learn to do better, but to say he wasn't even competition to Damon is
really blind. Coulthard might've finished 2nd in the championship were it not for some
mechanical failures...get a grip

Fourth of all it's Coulthard with a letter 'h' and fiftly IN YOUR DREAMS:
This year he is not at all better than Mika Hakkinen.

This is an emotional reply to uneducated "story."

And sixth, Damon is not a great driver, just a very good one.

Quote:

Eleventhly, Damon was the #1 in Williams and was treated that way.
11.5th, he still couldn't do it (beat Schumacher).
Thir***th, Coulthard qualified better later in the season.
21st, I bet Hill won quite a few times because of team orders.

Quote:
> and DC is better than Mika this year,

DC has *not* - at least yet - droven better than Hakkinen. The times DC
has outqualified Hakkinen, Mika has had problems with the car.  Also,
Coulthard brought his personal engineer from Williams, might have
something to do with the performance.

Hmmm... Here something to think about, again. Both Hakkinen and Hill raced
Senna. I know the results - I bet you do, too. 101st: Mika spanked Senna
once out of three, Damon didn't.

Quote:

Yeah, right. There is no such state of world, no such conditions, no such
weather, which would make Hill a better driver than Schumacher. Amen. And
I'd really like to see a person knowledgeable of f1 claiming other with a
straight face. (Hill is definitely buying his way into the S's top six,
though - he's not a bad driver.) There is only *one* in formula one today.
That's just the way it is, and it doesn't change if DH takes the
championship. The rest, like Frenzen, Hakkinen, Coulthard, Hill etc. are
missing that something.

Both DC and Frank Williams have said that team orders played no part to the 1995
championship on Williams' turf.

Coulthartd Didn't bring *His* engineer from Williams, he actually brought
*Damon Hills* Engineer, reputed to be the best in the bussiness. Also, he was a
key part of Nigel Mansells 1991/92 contract, that he had to have this particular
Engineer (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment. So with DC having a new
Engineer, and DH having a new Engineer, both need to re-build relationships,
and so will not be at 100% untill at least mid-way through the season.

Sorry, you have me their - in *That* season. Damon Maybe has a steeper learning
curve to MH, and so now he is better.

Oh. I notice you have missed out my points of reasoning that support my argument.
Ever heard of Proporganda? Thats what you are doing - missing out reasonable points
to support the others argument.

And you're forgetting of course brilliant drivers like Katayamaha,
Barryjello, Vestapen, Allessi, Errvine and Brundell. But please bear in mind
it's not the driver, it's the car that makes the difference: the Benneton is
much better than that Farrarri. And I refuse to talk about team Willy.

Oh god, when will the madness end? :-)
