Mansell to drive Arrows two-seater

This weeks Autosport magazine exclusively reports that the 1992 world
champion is to demonstrate the modified Arrows at European Formula
Racing events at British circuits, giving rides to sponsors and
corporate guests.

"Im obviously delighted to be back in an F1 car," said Mansell, "but
this time with passengers! This is one of the most exciting
motorsport-based opportunites I have worked with."

The deal has been struck by European Aviation boss Paul Stoddart, who
has strong links with Arrows and runs his own Formula 3000 outfit - the
Arrows junior team.

"It is one thing to be driven at high speed," said Stoddart, "but to do
it with Nigel is quite frankly the ultimate passenger ride."

Six two-seater cars have been built so far and there are plans to build
two more. Stoddart wants to have all the cars running on track at the
same time to create multi-car, high-speed demonstrations. The
Australian is keen to stress, however, that the cars will not actually
be racing.

What is the point?  Some businesses deal?  Nige is loaded financially.
Maybe he wants to drive an F1 car again.  Will Nige take up both
seats?

I think we are all a bit *** Nige.  The man could drive an F1 car
and he rarely crashed into others while passing which was/is not always
true for Senna, Schumacher and others.

Now that there are two two-seaters, are they going to have a race?

Cheers,

Are you sure the two things were connected Marc? ;-)

Arrows say they aren't going to race any of their twin seaters but you
never know they might change their minds.

For people in the UK the Daily Telegraph are running a compitition to
win a ride in the Arrows version check the newspapers website for more
details.

This is OT but I just watched your mate Gavin flip his Alfa at Brands or
Oulton Park, forget which on Speedvision.

Just took a second look and it was Oulton, not as impressive as Kristiensen
losing that brake disc at Brands. The last two rounds are shown today out
here.

Yeah but as you say Kristensen had mechanical help - Gavin did it all by
himself... ;-)
