Mansell to drive Arrows two-seater
This weeks Autosport magazine exclusively reports that the 1992 world
champion is to demonstrate the modified Arrows at European Formula
Racing events at British circuits, giving rides to sponsors and
"Im obviously delighted to be back in an F1 car," said Mansell, "but
this time with passengers! This is one of the most exciting
motorsport-based opportunites I have worked with."
The deal has been struck by European Aviation boss Paul Stoddart, who
has strong links with Arrows and runs his own Formula 3000 outfit - the
Arrows junior team.
"It is one thing to be driven at high speed," said Stoddart, "but to do
it with Nigel is quite frankly the ultimate passenger ride."
Six two-seater cars have been built so far and there are plans to build
two more. Stoddart wants to have all the cars running on track at the
same time to create multi-car, high-speed demonstrations. The
Australian is keen to stress, however, that the cars will not actually
