Why is it in the Canadian GP all cigarette companies (at present  and in the
past) are able to show their decals (Marlboro, Rothmans, Gitanes, Camel, West,
etc) except Mild Seven? You can't even buy Marlboros here!

As I remember it from hearing it on espn a few years ago, they out
lawed tabaco advertizing but the ban only efected contracts that were
signed AFTER the law took place, that is why Marlbro and the like are
still alowed, but new advertizments like Mild Seven are not.

The Canadian anti-tobacco laws specify that you cannot advertise
cigarettes BRANDS. However, you are free to advertise the name of any
corporation, even if it happens to be the same name of a cigarette.
That's the reason why you see at the Canadian GP 'Inc.' or 'LTD' or
'LTEE' after the name of the cigarette. It's because of that loophole
that you see names like Rothmans LTD, Player's LTD or Camel Racing. As
for Mild Seven, perhaps their lawyers aren't as experimented with
Canadian laws as their counterparts at Player's, Rothmans and co.

There was no Rothmans Tobacco advertising at Canada ! It was Rothmans
Ltd. It has nothing to do with the tobacco sponsor of Williams. Just a
nice trick... Benetton wanted to do Wild Seven, but it wasn't allowed.

If I am obsessive it is in a positive way. I have a strong natural push but it is not unhealthy, not a disease.
