Formula 1 supremo" Bernie Ecclestone and South Korean officials
confirmed at Shanghai this weekend that F1 will have another race in the
Far East beginning in 2010.

A new purpose-built circuit in the province of South Cholla will be
erected for the event, at an estimated cost of $264 million. Track
design wizard Hermann Tilke, author of the Istanbul, Malaysia and
Shanghai circuit, among others, has been commissioned for the job. In
the announcement at Seoul, Ecclestone vowed to help South Korean drivers
to reach the pinnacle of motorsport in the next few years.

Recently, the South Korean city of Ansan attempted to host a Champ Car
World Series race, which ended up being canceled in 2005 and 2006, and
dropped altogether for next year.
