That's the plan.

FIA discover that McLaren used Ferrari IP on the 08 car.

FIA docks McLaren points.

FIA allows McLaren to compete in WCC/WDC.

Ferrari installs eight liter engine.

Ferrari tells FIA:  Go ahead.

Dock.

Us.

Points.

Despite my hatred of BMW drivers, and the fact that it would be awfull if
they suddenly got the idea that they drive F1 cars round the M25, it would
be nice to see them***all over both Ferrari and Mclaren next year.

Go Red Bull. If only they could gaffer tape the gearbox a bit better.

We all like BMW until they win.

Then all of those those intolerable BMW drivers will just be - well
intolerable.

I mean you might not like McLaren now, but imagine how bad it would be if
BMW were nearly winning championships!

And we'll be sure to set it up so that it happens at someone's home and
that the mechanic involved did so without anyone knowing. And Luca can say
that although he was shown the plans he stated he didn't want to look and
turned away and told them not to be *** boys.

Oh (and here's my favourite) it won't matter anyway because the car was
designed with a 'different design philosophy' so it can't get any benefit
from a bigger engine anyway..

Hahahahahaha!

I'd be curious to see how Ferrari would make an 8 ltr engine, um, fit.
The word pendulum comes to mind... :) Bring it on!

As long it it blew up with the fuel tank leaving both drivers in flames, who
cares?

Surely the most deserving and decent thing that could happen to Ferrari!

Hah ! They'd go and find the 'new Giles' and all would be good. ;-)

How much does cylinder capacity weigh?

A significant amount..  If the engine is producing more power it needs
to be physically stronger, and in the already on-the-edge powerplants
of F1 that's going to add weight.  Then the rest of the car needs to
be beefed up to take the extra power and weight, and you'll need more
fuel to cope with the extra power consumption.

So unless you were going to try and waffle on about increasing
cylinder capacity without increasing power or fuel consumption, then
it was a silly question.  And if you were going to waffle on about not
increasing power or fuel consumption, then that too is silly!

If you can point me at an 8 ltr engine that is the same size and
weight as a 2.4 ltr V8 I'd be most interested to see it... :-)

You'd have to point me at an eight-litre F1 engine first.

I see waffling, but it doesn't have my name on it.

Go on then, show us how to increase a highly-stressed engine's
capacity and power without making it heavier..
