Astonishing revelation in todays on- line version of "The Times"UK.

Everyone enjoy, please. That explains David Coulthard's sour face, he
was even threatened with the sack, according to the paper. The whole
Mika win was ***ed.
Happy reading.

I won't really be convinced until I hear some evidence that Williams and
McLaren together discussed Coulthard blocking Irvine.  McLaren simply
wanted to win, and Villeneuve simply wanted a point.  Coulthard was
blocking for Hakkinen just as Frentzen would have blocked for Villeneuve
if he had the opportunity.  It would be stupid for Jacques to block
because he would risk an accident.  The team orders were obvious and
expected.  It's only unfair if they actually collaborated on them to the
exclusion of Ferrari.

Too bad Coulthard didn't win.  He deserved it.

It is very interesting, though hardly a surprise. You don't have to be
called Sherlock Holmes or use a magnifying glass to see that something was
going on between McLaren and Williams. I'm more surprised that it took two
weeks for any of the newspapers to even suggest the result may have been
fixed.

Not with Patrick Head running down the pit lane and diving into conversation
with Ron Dennis LIVE in front of 300 million viewers!  Oh no!  Suspicious?
Certainly NOT!  It probably took five days for the journos to sober up and get
on to Usenet.

Sorry that no one mentioned this to you (or The Times) earlier.  I
think the rest of the world had come to these conclusions on a Sunday
afternoon a couple of weeks ago!

What's even more astonishing is the fact The Times would use such a
slanted and judgmental headline.  I know they're *VERY* anit-Jacques,
but this "rigged" thing is beyond the borders of absurdity.  Definitely
tabloid mentality.

Hmmm...come to think of it, weren't they once a respectable newspaper?
