Bearded F1 driver and unlucky bearded chartacters in history

Come on Damon, lose the unlucky beard.  How many sucessful bearded F1 drivers
ever raced?  The only one I can think of is John Watson and he shaved his
off. I think the late Tom Pryce may also have had a beard.  Yes, Emmo had the
sideburns but really it is time to lose the beard.  I am sure the sponsors
hate it too.  I can hear them now, "hey who is the old geezer driving our
car?"

If I have not convinced you yet, think of unlucky characters in history with
beards: Abe Lincoln, Trotsky, Rasputin (?), Czar Nicholas, Kaiser Wilhelm(?),
Castro, W.T. Grant (lots of scandals but fewer than Clinton), Che Guevera
(was it a goatee?), Tshikovsky (sp?), the bearded lady (sad life) and
probably other I am forgetting.

If you are a Damon fan please give me more names of tragic and unhappy bearded
characters in history so we can convince Damon to shave it off.  Tragic or
unhappy characters with a goatee or vandyke are also acceptable.  I am willing
to even accept mustaches which include Hitler, Chamberlin and others if it
helps convince Damon to lose the unlucky beard from Hell.

Look at Heinz-Harald. HHF trimmed his sideburns to semi-normal length after
leaving Williams and he is a new man.  Damon ditch the beard.  *** hair is
unlucky. ;)

Frank (who needs the address in Dublin to FedEx Damon a shaving kit - I will
even accept the Jordan factory address or EJ's home)

Personally, I like the beard, but then it's not really my business, or
yours. If Damon likes the beard and Georgie likes the beard, that's
good enough for me.

Get a grip, Frank :-) (Or is this all one big wind-up? Haven't spotted
any smilies.)

Sorry for the lack of smiles. ;) I think Damon is great and maybe I am being
superstitous but I think it is the beard.  He had one in pre-season in 1996
and had an off in testing.  He then shaved off the beard and won the WC.

My fear is the press will really start to get on him and his confidence will
go down, EJ will get on him and down the slippery slope.  I fear an end of
the career "annus horribilus."

As I said, look at HHF.  Heinz-Harald shaves off the Elvis sideburns and he
becomes a god. I will go to FedEx and send the shaving kit to the factory. ;)
And really was there ever a successful F1 driver who drove with a beard or any
driver with a beard.  The only one I remember was John  Watson and maybe Tom
Pryce.

Frank (fan of a clean shaven Damon Hill ;) )
