RM>_   F1 needs Mansell. It's not just the racing that counts. Even we at rasf1
RM>_   need Mansell. Let us not discuss his driving capabilities. We all know h
RM>_   fast, so seems to be Coulthard. It's that little bit extra he adds to F1
RM>_   The way he drives (aggressivley), the way he qualifies (on the edge and
RM>_   even more important over the edge), the way he deals with the media and
RM>_   (exaggerating, overdoing, marveless expressions, .......) and the way he
RM>_   celebrates his victory on the podium ( marvelous acting, grandfather and
RM>_   2 of his grandchildren on both sides). Can we live without Nige? Maybe b
RM>_   F1 will not be the same without Nige.

I agree.  Mansell brought a spark back to F1 qualifying at Mangy-Cours
(almost beating Damon) and his driving in the last three races of the
year definitely made things a lot more interesting just when things were
getting a bit dull.  You'd think some of the younger drivers would be
just as aggressive, but they sure weren't in 1994.  Bernie and I agree
for once: Thank God for Nigel!

Yes, if it wasnt for Nige, the season would be boring. And the fans at
Silverstone would have less to yell about (Damon has done great, but he
just isnt Nigel yet)

I can't speak for everyone, but I will tell you that this IndyCar fan will
miss him next year.  It was great to watch an IndyCar race and know that
that black and white Lola would be hounding the Penskes for all it was
worth, even when the car was damaged.
I do hope that he gets a Formula-1 ride this year.  I hope he gets into a
McLaren and shows Frank Williams the mistake he made.
