From 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'

Minardi, in their perpetual search for horsepower, have approached Ferrari
and expressed interest in the old V12s. President Montezemolo is considering
the proposal, however, Jean Todt, the technical director has (unofficially)
given it the thumbs-down. Minardi have declined to comment until an official
reply is received.

Berger has sid is benetton is too uncomfortable to drive so his mechanics have
installed two cooling fans in the***pit, a glass of lemonade on his
dashboard and a high-energy drink in an ice-bucket*** from his right
mirror... (I can see it now: For sale- one benetton, all mod-cons)

The FIA feels that the saturday only qualifying has been a bit of a disaster
(no s**t sherlock) and is considering alternate proposals for next year (or
possibly later this year). Bennetton's Briatore has suggested an averaging of
Friday and Saturday times which means that drivers would _have_ to go out
on a Friday (and thus TV, the principal reason for the abandonment of Friday
qualifying, would be happy). What I can't understand is why drivers are allowed
only 12 laps is TV coverage is so important!

Eddie Jordan has demanded 900,000 uk pounds from Schumacher for breaking his
contract and moving to Benetton in '91. If schumacher doesn't pay up (just a
minute Eddie, I'll nick down to Rolls and get some change), Eddie will continue
the matter in court where he will also press for compensation over an option
for '92 and '93 leading to a 10 million pound claim.

Eddie Irvine is enthusiastic about Ferrari's nose-job and has said he'll take
it if Schumacher doesn't want it in Canada.
