Dunno about spattering, but I'm moist with the idea of JV at Ferrari if for no
other reason to see if Marky Mark splits in two a la that movie Doppelganger.

Schumacher: "Ferrari is a special team."

Post by MJF 20 » Tue, 18 Jan 2000 04:00:00

From the Ferrari web site,
http://SportToday.org/

Madonna di Campiglio, 13th January - Michael Schumacher
is the guest of honour at the "Vroom F1 Press Meeting," the traditional annual
specialist press get- together held for the past ten years at Madonna di
Campiglio."Ferrari is a special team," said Schumacher. "I cannot find
any reason to regret the choice I have made. If I had been
with another team, I might have won another title. But the
number of race wins and titles is not important if you only do
it because you have the best car."

The German driver talked about the previous season, marked
by his accident at Silverstone. "There was confusion and
tension, but then everything was clear. There are no problems
for me and I also want to underline the fact that the way
Ferrari looked after me was extraordinary and incredible. It
brought me even closer to the team."

Schumacher also spoke of his relationship with his new
team-mate, Rubens Barrichello and of his former team-mate
Eddie Irvine. "It has never been written in a contract that I
should have a Number 2 driver. The second driver is always
the slowest one. Irvine said he was the second driver because
he was not as quick as me. I am sorry, but I could not slow
down to let him be Number One! Rubens and I can be
friends. We have more in common and can have a better
social relationship. Ferrari has made a good choice and it will
be a step forward compared with the past. Last year he had
great results and we hope that will continue in the same way.
Therefore, if I am slower than him, it will be up to me to help
him and if he is slower than me then it will be the other way
round."

As for the season which starts in Australia on 12th March,
Schumacher had this to say. "I can only ask the fans to
remain patient and I will try and prove that I can win the
drivers' championship as well as the constructors'. In
December, I saw the model of the new car and I was already
impressed by its shape. On top of that, figures we are seeing
from the engine are encouraging."

Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer were also in Madonna
di Campiglio and held a press conference on Wednesday.
The Brazilian driver spoke of his first experiences with the
new team. "I think the car no longer has any secrets from me.
I am comfortable in it and I can get the best out of it on the
wet and in the dry. It has a good turn of speed, brakes well
and has exceptional driveability. I have been able to go well
in it and on top of that, I am getting on great with the team.
Everyone at Ferrari has given me a warm reception. Maybe
they like having a driver who speaks Italian. When I am in the
car, I use English, but once I am out of the***pit, we smile,
joke and mess around together. It is like being part of a
family and I feel as though I have done two years testing with
Ferrari, because it is all going so well in such a short space of
time."

Luca Badoer will once again be the Scuderia's test driver. "I
have got no complaints with anyone, when I was not chosen
to stand in for Schumacher last year and so there is no reason
why I should not continue as test driver for the Prancing
Horse. I do it willingly, even if it can involve dealing with
tedious things, because I take satisfaction from the
performance level."

Schumacher will take to the track next Monday at Barcelona
for the first of two days testing for Scuderia Ferrari
Marlboro.

Ah, so Marcus Obnoxious finally implies something positive about a driver!

It's clear that MS has been*** around Stallone (Rocky movies), Don King
and many more who are quite good at drooling whilst building up the
non-event of an arrogant bastard seating himself in a car,.  This Man, who
lost by a lap to RB in a Kart race last week,  with any luck, might surprise
his fans by winning something for a change.  It's a pity that the mysteries
of the car were not apparent to him earlier (Cos Drammatico).

I wish him luck, and he deserves to vindicate himself in your eyes.

Our pie is still full of friut (and not friutcake, a usless anchor similar
to Luca's team), and and has a DWC in the latter '90s, and your driver is in
need of a DWC during the same period.   Ahh! but alas, too late for that
now.   Time will tell.  I do miss the Mansell days when he had Gilles # 27
when I saw the 12 cyl Atmo Ferraris in Mtl.  UK and Ricard  in '89.... heady
days those were.   I did like them then.

It's weird then, that Ferrari busts a gut to produce the best car on the
grid.

LOL!

In English: Mika's wins and titles are not important.

I think they're quite importantly frustrating for Michael.

Which is, no doubt, why he helped Irv to drive for the title?

Uh-oh! Be afraid, Rubinho, be *very* afraid.

I guess the stress of holding in the drool while cutting and pasting can be
too much sometimes.
