I didn't think that something that obvious would require a smiley.  Oh
well...

See, it's the way Ferrari won. First, protest the preapproved parts away
from the competition. Then, punt the opposition off the track.

Punt the opposition of the track please.  Ms had Coultard on the turn and it was
Coultard that cut off the Ferrari.  Guess you didn't watch the same race!!!

Tuomo:
Just how does "preapproved" confer or vest "approval in perpetuity" ?

Let's assume a team, for argument's sake let's assume a British team, so
we don't have to deal with those *** cheating Italians in the
equation, but a team, let's call them McLoutish; develops a braking
improvement that allows a finer application of what's known as left-foot
braking, allowing an even greater advantage to drivers who utilize that
style.

After gaining approval of that braking system improvement it is modified
in a simple way which now allows it to operate to use the rear wheels to
steer the car, clearly afoul of the spirit of the no-four-wheel steering
rule, if arguably not in violation of the, perhaps vaguely constructed
letters of the regulations.

( We will here disregard, for brevity, the bit about the selection of
the wheel to be braked being made my electronic components, in the
absence of direct involment of the driver, inarguably putting the
system, as presented in OZ and Brazil, in violation of the 'electronic
driver aids which not merely provide and assist or emulation are banned'
regs, because, well because they moot your whole premise that the
rescission of the "preapproval" was somehow based on anything other than
clear eyed examination of the regs and the hardware... )

After rethinking the sytsem, which is now being operated in a manner
inconsitant with the regulations and has been modified since presented
or described originally for "preapproval", is now un-pre-approved.

Where, oh where, is the "problem" ?

If a team were to get a particular wheel design, one which delivers a
greatly increased level of air flow, approved as a brake cooling device,
then duct that airflow to the engine under pressure, wouldn't they then
be running a supercharged engine, and would "pre-approval" of the "brake
cooling system" prevent the stewards from dq-ing such a car ?

I should say not.

->That *wasn't*  a joke. just a sore loser.

Rapidly approaching Jari-ville...  Get those gear down...

Hey, what's wrong with you? Tuomo was just telling the truth. That's
exactly what happened. We all know that.
