Martin Brundle has officially denied he is planning to leave F1
after the british grand prix.

Open denials like this usually mean there is something fishy going
on. Various reports ( today's Independent for one) seem to paint
a picture of an unhappy Martin.

He isn't having too much fun in the Jordon-Peugeot right now either.

I'm sure he'd get a place in sportscar racing, or the BTCC. Maybe
Mark Blundell's move has prompted Martin to re-consider things in F1?
Are Peugeot pushing for a french driver?

All this is a shame, because MArtin's experience seems to be having the
desired effect on the Jordon team.

It would be sad day if he left F1 I agree.
But I can't help thinking that Gianni Morbidelli would go pretty well
for Jordan....

Apparently he feels the car drives like a truck and has perfected a
power steering system which works great and saw him top the testing
times at Silverstone the other week.  He's not using it in Montreal
but it will be ready for Magny Cours.  There's life in him yet....

Then again maybe he is just responding to excessive speculation...

This is true, as they say, "If you can get them to deny it, it's as
good as getting them to admit it."  Personally I'm a bit intrigued by
all these Brundle rumours.  One one hand, he's a very good consistent
driver with a lot of experience to try to settle Rubens down a bit.
OTOH though, I certainly could see him retiring (or is he being pushed
and will make it look like retiring like Blundell?) as he hasn't done
much so far with Jordan (not surprising though).  Add to that the fact
that he hasn't done anything significant in his F1 career - no knock,
just the fact that he's never been in a top-rank team - and it might
be possible that he'd like to find greener pastures before*** up
the gloves altogether.
