NZ 'A' V SL 'A'...

Hmm, just noticed that NZ 'A' are 509/8., with Wiseman 102*.

What on earth is wrong with SL 'A'? They've been consistently drubbed by the
Kiwis.

Regards,
Ben.

Have a look at the names, and it soon becomes apparent that it's more of an
SL 'B' or 'C' side. A lot of the better reserve players have been kept in
Sri Lanka as possible backups for the Test side. Now that the Tests are
drawing to a close, apparently eight or ten of the touring party out here is
being replaced by better players from SL.

Wiseman can actually bat a bit these days, so his century isn't a complete
surprise.  His 9th wicket partner, the Northern Districts left-arm spinner
Bruce Martin came into the match with a highest first-class score of 54.  He
scored 113* in a partnership of 209 for the 9th wicket, which I believe is
the second highest in the history of first-class cricket in New Zealand.

You'd have to hope he can bat because, from what I've seen, he's not much of
a bowler.

Ben.

Fortunately it looks as though SL 'A' are intent on making a match of it.
Their fourth wicket didn't fall until six runs were on the board.
