That's Mandar Sane, leggie out of Bombay. Was the spearhead of
the Bombay Under 19 attack that won the national title a mere two
seasons ago, under Amol Muzumdar. He couldnt make the Bombay 16 for a
couple years, and so he's obviously decided to move to Maharashtra -
this makes him the 2nd ex-Bombay-Under19er (and ex India Under19er from
Bombay too, actually) who is currently in the Maharashtra XI - the other
is Abhijit Kale, who had such a great Duleep Trophy this season.
This was his debut game at first-class level - 4 for 42 in 10
overs is not half bad for a 20 year old leggie debutant, really :-)
So, another good young Bombay player moves to a different team,
unable to crack the Bombay 16. At this rate there will be no good
prospects left for Bombay in a few years time - it seems like they all
have to leave, as they arent going to get a shot for Bombay for years to
come if they stay. They really have to come up with some way to fix the
situation.
Still. YABBDG, I suppose :-) (Yet another Bombay Boy done good
:-)

Sadiq [ who once again proposes a Bombay 2nd XI :-) ] Yusuf
