Three players(Inzy & the Yo-Yo) in the top ten, followed by
Australia(two including the #1) & India(two).

South Africa(three) has the best bowling line-up, followed by
Australia(two including the #1), Sri Lanka(two) & England(two)

Nah.....we don't want this title......let it stay with India......

I'll take the number of wins we have been getting as compared to the
"other" best
batting line up - in ODIs and Tests!!!

How many wins their their "best" batting line have given them???  Same
as NZ in last 100 test!!!

Also, by started this thread, you have now confused the heck out
them......they don't know if they HATE ICC ranking becuase Yousaf and
Younis moved up after Lahore test and Sehwag did not (after his
200).....should they love ICC ranking since it ranks their team at #2
in test ranking!!   :-) :-)

No one is confused. Inzi is undisputed as having a great run and the
other two will hang out there for a bit before falling off to occupy
their destined locations. Kudos to them for making the most of the
situation though. Runs dont make themselves, they have to be scored and
large innings require concentration no matter who is bowling.

Agreed entirely. Be it Tendulkar's 193 at Headingley or Younis Khan's
pair of 190 scores in this series, notching up a big score requires
work. Younis has done well to make these big scores. It would be great
for Pakistan if he can do so on tracks which offer something for the
bowlers too.

I have no disputes with Mohammad Yousuf and Inzamam being in the top
ten either. Yousuf has been a class act for some time, as has Inzamam.
So what if Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag have done well almost
everywhere they've gone? For the moment, the Pakistanis have been
notching up bigger scores. Ratings reflect recent form rather than
inherent class (granted that the two aren't mutually exclusive), and
three Pakistanis in the top 10 suggests that their form is good.

VJ/Aditya,
If you are not confused, then you are exception.......I saw tons of
e-mail/post from
your country men who were EXTREMELY upset that after Lahore test,
Younis/Yousaf
climbed up 1/2 spots but Sehwag...even with a 200+ score stayed at #6.
My point to them was...hey does it matter who is ranked ahead of
who....at the end of the day, all of them are joy to watch.......!!

Exactly. Why have you been emailing yourself pretending to be an
Indian?

If Pakistan had lost the toss in both matches and had played a curtailed
innings in Lahore and one innings in F'bad then this wouldn't have happened.
If they can stay in the top ten after another 2-3 series then they'd deserve
this title.

As things now stand, against neutral opposition, say Australia, Sehwag,
Dravid and Tendulkar are better than Inzy, Youhana and Younis.

Yes, what have these "better" batsmen done for their team...other than
scoring selfish runs??
read this.....it was written by one of you guys;
********************************************************

Currently India is #6 in all Tests, #6 in home tests, #7 in away test.
Similarly #6 or #7 in all ODIs, home ODIs, away ODI and ODIs at neutral

grounds. Please see the tables below;
http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/STATS/TESTS/RESULTS/TEST_RECORD_BY_COUNTRY...

http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/STATS/ODIS/RESULTS/ODI_TEAM_RESULTS.html

It amazes me that we have produced HUGE names/heros in cricket - Kapil,

Gavaskas, Vishy, Bedi,Chandra,Venkat,Prassana, Vengsarkar, Azhar,
Sachin, Dravid, Gangu, Srinath, Harbhajan, Kumble....and a few others
BUT look at the number of Tests and ODIs we have won as compared to
other team??? Why?? Our record against Pakistan is pathatic in
ODIs....... Pakistan does not have all 11 players that are great! On
paper.....most of the times....we were better than them but we loose.
Our cricket is way more organized than theirs. Millions more play
cricket in India than Pakistan....but still we can not win as many game

as Pakistan. Their team/board has more dirty politics and scandals than

ours.
One of the BIGGEST reasons (in my opinion) is that our stars play for
themselves - not for the team! When they don't play for themselves, we
win. Here is an example... I did not mind when Dravid declared in
Multan with Sachin short of 200 because he put team ahead of personal
records. I'll take Indian win over a Tendulkar's 300 or even 400!
Remember...Imran did the same thing with Javid (282*) in 1982-83...I
think it was Hyderabad.
Look at New Zealand. They started winning with Hadlee and they are
still winning even without big name. Since Hadlee, only "big" name they

had were may be Cairns or Flemming but they have managen a few wins.
England won 6 or 7 series in a row before Pakistan....only "big" name
was Flintoff - nobody else! Why can we win like other teams with names
so big!!! I think, lets start a separate thread on this!
I looked at Ind, Pak and NZ's last 100 test. They have 33, 41 and 28
wins respectively. They have 12, 21 and 12 away wins. Their away series

records is 18-4-4-10, 21-8-7-6, 21-5-5-11 respectively for last 100
test. Now can somebody explain it to me why NZ and Ind have same record

when we had Sachin, Dravid, Gangu, Azhar, Srinath, Kumble in our last
100 tests and NZ had nobody (no stars)!
In Test # 1251, NZ beat Pak (Waqar, Wasim, Salim, Saeed, Amir) with a
team of nobodies. Just look at the score card! Test #1689, NZ beat SAF
with MOM C Martin (who?)??? NZ has better away record than us. We have
the greatest batsmen and bowlers but why can't we WIN?????

My questions to the forum member is that why in last 100 test that
India played and the last 100 test NZ played, both team have identical
records when we had players like Dravid, Sachin, Kumble, Gangu, Srinath

and Azhar. What did New Zealand did different than our super stars that

they won same number of away series and same number of test matches as
us?

This piece hasn't been proof-read. "Kapil" misspells his own teammates'
names. There is no attribution. Where did you find it? Can you cite, or
better still, pass on a URL?

Unless the "Kapil" you're talking about is the chap who makes biryani
in the dhaba down the road from me.
