Did anyone else think that Curtly might have gone off the boil a bit in
the first Test? I guess he was recovering from injury (had to have a
toenail removed) but somehow he didn't look quite at his best to me.

Perhaps he will bounce back in the 2nd Test- never underestimate what
Curtly can do!

Yes, he did bowl well within himself I thought. I never underestimate
Curtly.

Curtly was still probably recovering. Also, it is noticeable late in
his career that Curtly needs more help in the pitch.  Unlike Walsh,
who has always been a workhorse or second change bowler, and
noticeably seems to enjoy getting something out of a pitch, Curtley
has always been a strike bowler, which means that he may not age as
well...

However if the pitch has any juice in it...Curtley is the most
dangerous bowler in the world. I hope we get one of those in this
test.

Curtly seems to need a test to warm up in series now, apart from the first
session he didn't look too good in Brisbane out here last time but was rather a
handfull in the rest of the matches. Of course with some luck his lunch figures
at Brisbane would have been 4 or 5 wickets <g>
