           Waqar Younus has picked up a bad habit recently. He is
shattering the stumps of too many batsmen. No, it is not jus the fact
that the guy is taking wickets; bowlers get paid to take wickets. It
more so the way he is doing it: Clean bowled.

           Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat. Why bat at 8:30 am
with dew on hte wicket? Confidence! The first eight overs yielded 40
runs (5 runs/over) before Salim Yousuf departed without reaching
double figures. Saaed Anwar was responsible for a breeezy opening
stand. Pakistan faltered early but recovered due to an artistic 95 by
Salim Malik. It was upto WA (Wasim Akram) to hit ~49 runs with a

terror struck. Clean bowled! Dean Jones follwed the openers before he
got his chance with his bat. Aus were bogged down for the next 20
overs or so to reach 130 for 3 in 32 overs. Mark Taylor had already

was run out at this critical juncture. Waugh and O'Donnel took matters
in their own hand and scored about 60 runs in the next 10 overs
leaving Aus 72 in last 8 overs (9 runs/over). The next two overs
yielded 20 runs but with 3 wickets in hand and the target 52 in 6
overs, was a bit too much against the final spell of Wasim Akram and
Imran Khan.

Well, Azhar has not completed the story. In the last spell, Wasim
Akram got a hat-trick to get Aus all out for ~230. So Pakistan wins by
30 odd runs.

Wasim was declared the man of the match and Waqar the man of the
tournament.
