Despite some contrived declarations after rain, all of the county matches
which finished yesterday were drawn, except the one at Cardiff, where
Glamorgan beat Middlesex by 129 runs. This is the first time that Glamorgan
have beaten Middlesex for 22 years.
The match between West Indies and Northamptonshire was also rain-affected
and drawn (W.I. 310-8 dec, Northants 68-1 dec). The main news is that
Patrick Patterson slipped when delivering his second ball, and may be
out of the second Test starting on Thursday.
