"Sledge away,' says Hansie

WEDNESDAY, 2.30PM: SOUTH African cricket captain Hansie Cronje said
yesterday he would be "very sad" to see sledging disallowed in the
upcoming Test against Australia. He said he saw sledging as past of a fast
bowler's armoury and an important part of the game, as long as it doesn't
become personally offensive.

"I feel some of the funniest moments in cricket have come from fast
bowlers sledging batsmen, and I think it adds something to the game. There
is quite enough to be serious about. A good laugh is welcome now and
then," Cronje said. He added that the sledging is not likely to put SA off
the game. "We will just carry on playing our normal game, and at the end
of the day, no matter how much sledging there has been, the better side
will have won."
