When They Say ...They Also Say ...

When They Say ...They Also Say ...

1. When they say
"Pakistan management should tell the players not to talk religion in
sports"
Kunal

They also say
"Indian management should not believe in religion in sports and
therefore should find the idea of a team based on religion repugnant.
We
therefore want Israel to pick a team on merit from within Israel
whatever
the religion of the players and we will be happy to accomodate them."

2. When they say
"He must have been told by Pakistani authority to make this kinda
stupid, and a real inflammatory statement. "
LKM

They also say
"Perlman must have been told by Israeli authorities to make this
kinda
stupid, and a real inflammatory statement. "

3. When they say
"While I believe its okay to thank God while accepting a prize, it
should not become a situation about talking about individual
religions. Like I thank all Hindus, or I thank all Christians or I
thank all muslims, buddhists etc. "
outsourcingbusiness

They also say
"While I believe its okay to thank God when making the national team
it
should not become a situation about talking about individual
religions. Like I include all Hindus, or I include all Christians or
I
include all muslims, buddhists, jews etc. "

4. When they say
"He better, india has the second highest population of muslims in the
world.
I was thinking WTF? Is that what it is? muslims vs infidels? "
JackofallTrades

They also say
[expletives] ... Is that what it is? jews vs infidels?

5. When they say
"Inzi had also once thanked muslims all over
the world for their support or something like that. I wish Shastri
had
reminded Malik that there are more muslims in India than in Pakistan
and
not all of them would be supporting Pakistan. "
Mohan

What they also say
"Perlman had once asked for and got from Niranjan Shah Indian jews to
play for Israel. I wish he had reminded Perlman that the Indian jews
are indian and not all of them would be supporting Israel."

6. When they say
"I also felt that Shastri should have said something like that. He
may
have been surprised to hear that too and chose to ignore that to
avoid
any controversy. "
Mastercheif/Shikari Shambhu

They also say
"I also felt that Niranjan should have said something like that. He
may
have been surprised to hear that too and chose to provide the player
to
avoid
any controversy. "

7. When they say
"Why couldn't he just say Pakistanis? What does religion have to do
with his win or loss? He is representing a country - Pakistan. The
team he captained is not "Muslims" or "Islam". If Danish Kaneria had
captained the team and said "Thanks to all the Hindus in the world",
would your reaction have been the same? "
RishiX

They also say
"Why couldn't he just say Israelis? What does religion have to do
with a national team celebrating independence? Perlman is representing
a country - Israel. The
team he is coming up with is not "Jews" or "Judaism". If a hindu
israeli had
been appointed to come up with the team would he say "I will only
include hindus and those supporting hinduism in the team",
would your reaction have been the same? "

8. When they say
"We know that Shoaib is just a country boy who was given a script to
read by the powers-to-be. This has been happening for decades; we are
all used to it and none of us are surprised by it.  And yet, that
does
not mean that we will not point it out each time it happens. "
Sanjiv Karmarkar

They also say
"We know that Perlman is just a country boy who was given a script to
read by the powers-to-be. This has been happening for decades; we are
all used to it and none of us are surprised by it.  And yet, that
does
not mean that we will not point it out each time it happens. "

9. When they say
"It is a world where Muslims, Hindus and a Sikh currently play for
England, where Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and a Hindu play for
Sri
Lanka, where Hashim Amla turns out for South Africa, where a Patel
plays for New Zealand, where Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Hindus
play (and have always played) for India. Why would Shoaib think,
then,
that the Muslims of the world were collectively rooting for the
Pakistan team or that they felt let down by its defeat? Did he stop
to
think of how Danish Kaneria, his Hindu team-mate, might feel hearing
his Test skipper all but declare that the Pakistan team is a Muslim
team that plays for the Muslims of the world?" Kesavan

They also say
"It is a world where Muslims, Hindus and a Sikh currently play for
England, where Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and a Hindu play for
Sri
Lanka, where Hashim Amla turns out for South Africa, where a Patel
plays for New Zealand, where Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Hindus
play (and have always played) for India. Why would Perlman think,
then,
that the Jews of the world are collectively the
Israeli team or that they felt let down if it does not get formed? Did
he stop to
think of how potential hindu israeli players might feel hearing
their cricket administrator all but declare that the Israel team is a
Jewish
team that plays for and is formed by the Jews of the world?"

The quotes after They also say are parodies and not really said by
anyone in case you are confused:)

Actually I cancel my previous comment about Kunal.

On second thoughts his comment above is very intelligent.

To state the obvious: It's a good thing. Certainly claiming modesty is
the hight of modesty.

Anyway now that we have saved (I think we have done enough and the
inertia should carry it over) the rsc from producing one of it's
lowest number of postings in a month for over a decade it is time (for
me at least) to move on until at least some radically new development
happens in these threads. Have a good escape where ever you wish to
have it.

Allah is really great. He influenced you to move on....:-))

Just a passing thought and a parting shot... how come Muslims and
Christians have only a Male God ? :-))

Why the discrimination against women ?  :-)
