Speaking to the media after the Delhi-Rlys match:

1. This is a totally underprepared wicket not suited for domestic or
international cricket. I will be writing to BCCI about this and
complaining about it. I will ask them to take action against such
wickets being used for domestic competitions

2. I had asked for a particular team but it never happens in DCA.
Usually some selector decides what team we have to play with, I wanted
a few specific players to play in this competition. But it doesn't
matter, we will play best with whatever team we get.

Compared to the current Indian captain who toes the Chappell and
selectors line ("There is no place for Ganguly in the playing 11"
before the Ahmedabad test to "Ganguly will play in the starting 11"
yesterday), Sehwag is like fresh air.

Not a bad idea -- I think the English county championship has
similar provisions.

Good job on his part telling the selectors off.  He is pretty much
invincible
right now at the state level (as India v-c) and he may as well make use of
it.
DCA is about the most corrupt cricket association in India (and that is
quite
a feat), and any attempt at accountability would be welcome.

Is the latter a confirmed quote?  I heard allussion to it, but I would be
very surprised if Ganguly was in the squad for T1 vs. Pak.  (Unless
they make poor Yuvraj open.)

And did Dravid make the "There is no place for Ganguly in the playing 11"
quote?  He may be sincerely ambivalent about Ganguly's place -- though I
know you won't be rushing to cut him any slack, on that account:-)

He did fight for VVSL's spot in the XI by all accounts, so he apparantly has
some spine -- for the things he wants.

Again, I see no disconnect between Ganguly not being in the XI, but being
in the XVI.
