** Goochie, any idea why this fella Bicknell hasn't been given more
chances at the international level? I believe he played one test (?) vs
the touring Australians last year and didn't do too horribly, although I
might be mistaken. I remember following his bowling alongside that of
Waqar Younis' and Bicknell always took a bagful of wickets. Also, any news
on whether Wasim Akram will be playing for Lancashire this season?

He did pretty horribly, however he was picked for the A tour to RSA
where he performed well, until a rib injury forced him out of the
tour.

He will probably come bacinto contention this year  Illy is a fan
of his...

Akram is indeed playing for Lancashire this season and batted at 6
yesterday in the Roses match against yorkshire.

regards

Goochie

You're thinking of Martin Bicknell.  The one above is his brother, Darren,
who opens the batting for Surrey.  Darren has been on a couple of England
A tours; he's a useful player who, in my opinion, has been unlucky not to
get a chance at full Test level.
