If he had got stuck for another couple of overs, no amount of
Australianism could have saved them

Walked in the RR: 10.4 and walked out after promptly bringing down the
RR to 7.44

For Reference:
The next partnership upped the RR 8.4

You're spot on, but he's a protected species, with CA having been
grooming him for the last 4 years as Ponting's successor. He's there
for reasons other than the quality of his 20/20, a game he just does
not, nor will ever, get

Clarke T20 International Watch update:

Number of innings in which faced at least one ball: 23
Number of times SR > 100: 8

Number of innings in this tournament: 5
Number of times SR > 100: 0

Hits a six every 45 balls faced; hits a four every 20 balls faced.

And yet there are people who believe that there is no bias in Oz
selections.

i think he gets it, he captains well but his batting style doesnt
always suit a big bash pressure game. he does however have the most
successful aus t20 first class captain as his second and lower order
batsman.

the problem is CA who have really struggled coming to terms with
playing the right men for the job as distinct from persisting with the
most test players as possible.
