Kartik will probably get another chance ahead of Powar.

and IMHO, Powar should get to replace Kartik in the second ODI.  But
you may just be right.

Yep. Though actually Powar should replace Ganguly (while VVSL replaces Badani
and Pathan replaces Nehra) for this match, since Ganguly isnt likely to play.
That way we can get in 5 bowlers - badly needed after conceding almost 350 in
the last match. And if Powar is 5th bowler at least the batting isnt *horrible*
from that #7 spot late in the innings, maybe - and with Powar at #7 and Pathan
at #8, there is a little added depth in bowlers-who-can-bat-a-bit.

That is a very good strategy. India's fifth bowler option has been toothless
on batting wickets. But the 7 specialist batsman formula is pretty ingrained
in team selection. The only way I see this happening is if Powar plays in
Rawalpindi instead of Kartik, bats really well, and Badani does badly with
the bat. Then we may see five specialist bowlers in Peshawar. And even that
may be impossible because Ganguly will then have to replace someone.

hmm.. well well.. Powar did get a chance and Kartik got dropped.
Laxman instead of Badani and Ganguly is there too... let's see what
happens..
