Eng 218/9 and we still couldn't finish them off - till 255 (Ganguly
had Srinath, Kumble up his sleeve, still he chose to bowl Badani #$%%)
While chasing, India were 191/3 off 37 (just 65 needed off 13 with 7 wickets
in hand), but still there was a collapse
.. Kaif and Ratra threw their wickets away for big shots - when just
singles could have done it.
... With all this, we lost by 5 runs... If we had played with our
head, we would have won the series 5-1
(Eng fans - don't complain about umpiring in Kolkata and Kanpur ..
Flintoff was out first ball yesterday - but thats not a reason for us
losing)
I am waiting eternally for that stretch of days, when we just do the basics
right - catching, ground fielding, running your singles, not attempting only
big shots ..
CONSISTENCY - thats never been the hallmark of any Indian team.
I won't chop and change the team much - but Kaif and Badani are definitely
out and Yuvraj and Laxman should come in.
Yuvraj at least will save lots of singles and the break should do a lot of
good for Laxman.
