I guess this AWAY record may not be broken...

Well with Bangladesh around we may still have hope.

To give you a rough idea, Bangladesh is due to tour Zimbabwe in December
2007.

"Due to" being the most significant words.  If Bangladesh never again
tours Zimbabwe, then their first away win will have to wait.  I can't
see any of the first 8 full member sides weakening to a level where
Bangladesh could beat them with their current resources.  So that
means they (BAN) will be waiting until either their 5-day pedigree is
much better, or until the promotion of Kenya, Namibia or Holland.

So, putative away matches in Zimbabwe aside, I put Bangladesh's first
Test away win at least five years away - but still before their 105th
away match.

In general, I agree.  It is however worth noting that at as far back as 2003
at Multan, Pakistan still required another 57 runs to beat Bangladesh when
the eighth wicket fell, and only just scraped home.  It could happen again.

That win was their first Test in NZ, though. I guess that if India and NZ had
not waited nearly 24 years to play each other in India, and nearly 35 years
until they met in NZ, neither of their records would look so bad.

West Indies' performance against them in St Lucia wasn't that great either.

In terms of years, India had to wait 40 years to register their first
away win over England, and that was in 1971 but the winners are NZ, it
took them 52 years to register their 1st away victory over England,
that happened in 1983, however, NZ have won a series in Australia while
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka can only wait and hope, Zindabad Sir
Richard and that's Hadlee and not  "Ganja smoking Viv".

The 105 in () refers to the number of tests played overall and not the
105th away match.. thats 44 for India and I think B'desh will beat
India on that figure
