Now that Starc is returning home and will miss the 4th Test, Australia's batting sinks even further into the nadir.  

And Clarke may miss the 4th Test as well (though if his performance at one-drop in this Test is any indication, he won't really be missed if he still planned to bat at #3 :-)

This just isn't right. Starc's been playing with this ankle pain for months now, so why didn't CA schedule the "necessary" operation sooner? No-one's going to bowl as well as they can if they're in pain. Especially if it's a fast bowler with a tender hoof. Well played CA. Again.
