"The Tied Test Picture"

Have just seen "The Tied Test Picture", another grotty piece of
merchandise from Chanel #9 - fully framed at $499.

In various books and magazines I must have about ten copies of the
famous photograph of the run-out which ended the match.  This grotty
piece of merchandise features not only the autographs of the 15
surviving players from that match, but (wait for it) a spiel from the
Australian captain of that match.  You guessed it, Richie Benaud has
penned some superlatives about this match, although how much he could
add to what has been written before and what he has *said* many times
over these 40 years, I do not know.

One of the poorer pieces of garbage to have been offered by these
clowns.  When does it become *** to throw something in a frame,
advertise it around the world at no in-house cost, and charge an amount
for it which is a blatant lie anyway because the only way to obtain it
involves extra delivery charges?

[The above has been copied to several newspaper editors]

Fair dinkum............do people actually fork out top dollar for these con
jobs. There are so many sporting memorabilia photo's for sale these days
that even the good ones get lost amid a sea of mediocrity.

Regards gnome.

How quaint.

Your PADDY key ring and coffee mug are on the way, thus you will first need
to remove your head from your arse.

While on the Tied Test. Are we ever going to get any pictures,
videos and books on the "other" tied test?

No offence to the 1960-61 players but the 1986 Tied Test would mean
much more to me and modern day supporters. My original cricketing
heroes such as Border, Matthews, Jones, Boon and S.Waugh played in
that Test.

The 1986 Tied Test also saw the greatest display of courage in Test
Cricket history.

And we can know Greg Matthews all we like but Mo is the only person
in the history of Test Cricket to take a wicket to cause a Tie.

For those who can't remember, the Australian Team was:
David Boon (vc)
Geoff Marsh
Dean Jones
Allan Border (c)
Greg Ritchie
Greg Matthews
Steve Waugh
Tim Zoehrer
Ray Bright
Craig McDermott
Bruce Reid

Kindest Regards,
Matthew.

Even your brain would realise it is the 40th anniversary of that tied test,
hence the euphoria, the 86 test will have its moment, when it celebrates a
milestone, but is not as great at the 60-61 test, as it was the first ever
tie
