Never really thought of him as India material as he never really fires
in Tamil Nadu's crunch games in Ranji. He does make runs but should be
looked at after another 2-3 years when he can score against all kinds
of attacks.

What sort of an impression did he make during his time in the middle?
I dont think he will go far, will probably end up with stats similar
to Raman. If he ever does a Ramesh, that would be a huge bonus.

Your namesake has looked better on other occasions though plus we
can't really judge him on his second innings dismissal

My first impression was that he has got issues with technique. He angles his bat too much towards on side and as a result his defense looks very awkward. In first inning he was played on. 2nd inning he did better but his angled bat will cause issues at international level.

Overall I like him though. He has room to improve.

Ya he has done well but I am getting the feeling the namesake is an FTB
and definitely lacks consistency which is something we cannot afford at
the top. The last thing we need is to go back to the 90s and early 2000s
when Rahul and Sachin were resigned to the fact that they would have to
walk out in the first hour itself.
