Funny that Cummins doesn't even figure in this thread. Given the dire
state of the attack and given that a tour of Eng always has a few warm-
up games, Cummins would be a sure pick in my list. Genuinely promising
pace prospect. Cummins, Pattinson, Bird and Siddle should make for a
handy quartet in English conditions.

Injuries! The NZ bug has now spread across the Tasman sea. Pattinson is to be operated upon for a non-cricketing injury (as per Cricinfo.)

Cummins - He has not participated in Sheffield Shield matches in recent memory.

Harris - another fine bowler who seems to be fit enough only for one Test in a series.

Surely they should ask Ponting to make a comeback. Hes clearly
still the best batsman apart from Clarke. The team would be
much stronger if he and Hussey were still playing for Oz.

Is SOK out of favour for non cricketing reasons? Its hard to see why
Doherty gets a central contract unless its for loyalty or essay
writing skills.
I was hoping they might pick Cosgrove, but apparently no one likes
him either.

Pattinson, Siddle, Hilf & 1 of Bird Starc or MJ would still on paper
be a reasonable pace attack. Pattinson seems to have some real pace,
and Englands batters certainly didnt enjoy facing Steyn last year.

Hasnt Cummins got  a back problem which means he cant bowl?

Its hard to see how Maxwell will strengthen anything

Henriques will bat better then Smith in England so I think you may be
right except the squad is already lop sided in favour of pace bowling

3 months ago I would have directed a vile string of abuse at you and
would have also questioned your parents heritage for suggesting bringing
back Ponting

Now I would consider him batting at 5, *** it  .. I would have him at 5

because of Smiths batting technique

I agree with the Chairman of selectors on this but in the end I dont
think it matters who we send  .... the convicts will get flogged

What about Mo's batting technique which has fetched him a FC average of 31?
