Curious! 4 batsmen from Maharashtra manage to get more than 500 runs!
On the other hand only 1 bowler manages to get more than 25 wickets and still
Maharashtra manages to reach semis...

Whereas only 1 batsman and 2 bowlers from Bombay team get 500+ runs and 25+
wickets and they win Ranaji..

Are stats always reliable??

I don't see Bhupinder Singh's name anywhere in this list of top
wicket takers, while Chetan Sharma seems to have more than done his
bit.  Why on earth was this guy flown to Sharjah ? Have the selctors
quite made up their minds to bury Indian Cricket ?

ravi (who thinks that the ways of selctors are too mysterious for
mortals to understand)

Depends on what you want to rely for . . .

On your point regarding Maharastra's batting strength, it makes sense that
they went far, because a lot of the matches get decided by first-innings leads,
and hence, a strong batting side stands to "win" more of those.  Also, Bombay's
figures are a bit deceiving because they have many national-level players who
played some of the matches.
