VB series win as a consolation prize

Post by Cricket Lov » Tue, 03 Feb 2004 20:20:34

India really, really deserved to win the Sydney
test and the series but they were robbed by
Messrs. Steve Bucknor and co.

So, I think they deserve to win the VB series
as a consolation prize (though Australia are
clearly a much superior ODI side) ... they will
need a little luck to come their way though.

Aussies don't even care that much about cricket
- they are more interested in footy, rugby, tennis
and swimming.

On the other hand, India's win will really lift
the spirits of an entire nation.

Keep telling yourself that and you'll be alright...

Hmmm. More sense being made.

How many ways can I spell W-R-O-N-G??? Aussies are only interested in
one tennis tournament a year. It just so happens it's during the cricket
season. Footy and Rugby are winter sports and only clash with cricket
during overseas tours by the Aussies and swimming only matters when
there's a major meet on, and they're only on once a year in general
(Olympics, C'wealth games, World Champs, Pan Pacifics).

Oh well, if it's for the good of another country, maybe the Aussies
should lose.

Rugby?

Most RL games are lucky to get 'crowds' of more that 18,000.

And Rugby Union on a club leevl would love to get those numbers.

Most Aussies pefer cricket to tennis.

Wow we like to swim.  80+% of our population lives within two hours of
a Beach, so noi surprises there.
