I think he should be recalled to the ODO team. World Cup is only a year
away after all.

No shit :)

Seriously, though, is he really that bad? This is one-day cricket we're
talking about, where the likes of Michael Bevan and Chris Harris excel.
Hick averages 37 with a strike rate of 74.....better record than most of
the current English line-up. Is he any worse than, say, Paul
Collingwood?

If they can pick average players in this form of the game such as
Hussain and Vaughan, not to mention Collingwood, Hollioake and Flintoff,
I don't see why they shouldn't play somebody who has proved to succeed
in this form of the game.

The problem with Hick seems to be when it comes to the crunch
he flunks it. Collingwood probably won't make it, but he might.

I think they are hoping for Trescothick 2. I thought his original
selection was ridiculous, but was shown to be totally wrong.
Collingwood's selection on figures is more sensible than
Trescothicks.

Hick is a proven failure for England
His average is only so high coz he hits weak teams around

I remember several ODI innings against good sides.

Either way, he's better than Vaughan, Collingwood, Hussain and Flintoff.

well he did play 118 innings
his last 10 ODOs give him an average of 27 and he'll be about 37 at
the world cup...

who's not guaranteed to be in the squad.

Collingwood and Flintoff appear to be in as allrounders, Collingwood
is averaging 42 over his last 10 ODOs and Flintoff about 30 over his
last to ODOs, and Hussain is the captain and is also quite a bit
younger than Hick.

true, ut a useful player

Quote:

Hussain is our most consistent batsman. More scores 20+ this winter
than any other batsman (including Trescothick)

Flintoff has been our most economical bowler

its called an ODI

ODI's! Where do you come from?

Collingwood has been a superb player at county level, and Hick wont be
around forever. Who else would you play?

No, I think you'll find it's ODO. One Day ODO. Quite simple, really.

Is that in odo's or tests?

It's not, ashley... it's "odo," as in "you can bowel boncers in the odo
