or offer competency when you have UDRS.

Who needs umpiring when players can just review each other?

Over reaction aside, Mr. Harper has disgraced himself out there
tonight.

Harper has been terrible - time to retire.
ICC should give umpires the option of calling for a referral (give
them 2 shots an innings) :-)

Great. So, to expound it a bit further, how about if the umps then
uses up his 2 quotas s/he can no longer overrule the player's appeals
and subsequent reviews. Or better yet, why not create a new rule where
if an umpire makes x number of mistakes corrected by the UDRS he is
then ejected or given out reviewed. In this system, if he makes 3
mistakes in a row, he'd be out on hat trick.

/silliness

Daryl Harper handed out way too many bad decisions punctuated by
indecisions on this match. He was more than embarrassing himself, he
was causing doubts on the players as they could no longer rely on his
competency/eye sight. Afridi, rightfully disgusted, had turned to UDRS
not because he was sure on his appeals (LBW not out on the Ajmaal's
ball, i.e.) but because he couldn't rely on Daryl Harper anymore.
Sadly for him, Mr. Harper was right probably for the first time that
night.

I wouldn't go that far, but he certainly had a very poor game and,
unintentionally, made a very strong case for having UDRS.
