pffftt... you have no idea Rob. Doolan hasn't done enough to warrant
selection. Johnson??? I don't think so, and why would you select Watson, but
not Cowan or Warner? I see you've finally given up on X. Doherty. Clearly
your cricket judgement arn't worth didley squat, Rob.

To base performances in Ind to pick a squad for Eng sounds somewhat
comical. Anyway, I'd have thought Hilfenhaus and Cummins would be at
the head of the bowling attack given the English conditions. And why
not Shaun Marsh? He'll do better playing right-handed than some of the
ones who are in Ind right now. Henriques mightn't be a bad pick
either.

He isn't even a near-ATG. Why should he be allowed this slump by the
selectors?

Because;

a) I'm assuming that he'll be bowling by then
b) He's got one of the best techniques around
c) He's succeeded as an opener before
d) His cutting & hooking are assets against quicks.
e) He's not Dill Hughes
f) Sympathy. He's copping absolute shedloads of unwarranted abuse from our
media.

Are there any domestics where he can prove his bowling fitness before
the Ashes squad is selected?

Little Phil made more runs than Watson in spite of Watson's fabulous
technique.

Why unwarranted? He averaged lower than everybody except Mitchell J and
Maxwell. The much mocked little Phil averaged more than Watto. The even
more mocked Smith averaged 2.5 times as much as Watto.

Not a single game. But nets, or even the IPL, would do to prove bowlabilty.

Whoopee. yay.

> Why unwarranted?

You think that it was warranted for CA's High Performance Manager to
publicly state that Watson is only a team player "sometimes"? Why is it all
Watson in the media? Warner should be getting a bath for his appalling
batting in the last two Tests. Hughes should be a national joke for his
comical efforts. The selectors should be made to explain why Kawajha
couldn't get a game amid the wreckage. And what exactly has Watson done to
corner the market on venom? Why he's said that he'd prefer to open the
batting. THE BASTARD! He's been dropped because he didn't fill out some
trivial homework demanded by a crazed coach and then said that he thought
being dropped was a bit harsh for that. And then he was made captain! ***
me. Who would have thought that the v-c would be promoted to the armband if
the captain pulled out. Other topics could be; Wade's embarrassing attempts
at keeping. Starc's dire bowling, Clarke's recurring inabilty to stop
attacking batting. Clarke's unexplained handling of Pattinson on D1 of T1.
There's no shortage of targets but only one one seems to be being shot at.

So this will always be so then.

So you can't muster one single rational comment then.

Not necessarily. But it makes any media criticism of his performance
warranted which is what I thought we were talking about.
