With regards to Monday: my understanding is that no advance tickets are
sold for the Monday of a Test match in England.. it all depends on the
state of the match whether/at what price they are sold.

With regards to Tuesday:  there is no Tuesday of the Sixth Test.  The match
finishes on Day Five, Monday.

Understand that the Oval are selling tickets for the Monday (first time
ever for the last day in advance as far as I am aware)
For the other days you may strike lucky by phoning the Oval direct and
getting some returns (as I have done) or try one of the ticket agencies
such as the one at 0171 930 3895 who will probaley want about 100 per
day.

Cheers

Andy

There are no advance ticket sales for Monday (sorry Andrew!).
Provided play goes to Monday, you just turn up on the day.  Tickets
are sold on a first in first served basis.  That goes for everyone:
members included, although they have the added option of the pavilion.

There will be no play on Tuesday.  All test matches (certainly in
England) run for five days maximum from and including the previous
Thursday.

The Oval test match is now completely sold out (with, of course, the
exception of the Monday).

Are you sure about that? I too have read that for the first time ever
tickets are being sold in advance for the last day (Monday).

This is certainly true, which may be why they have decided to sell
tickets in advance for that day (if they *have* so decided). As was
pointed out, it may be possible to get tickets for days 1-4, at a
premium, from a ticket agency.

Don't you have "scalpers" in England?

For a sporting event of this importance in the US you would be inundated
by scalpers trying to sell you tickets within streets of the ground.
By a few minutes before the game, the prices will have descended to the
merely outrageous.

Well, about as sure as I can be... 1) as a member of Surrey CCC I
haven't been told about advance ticket sales (and Surrey are fairly
good at keeping their members informed); and 2) I telephoned the Oval
yesterday and it was confirmed that there would be no advance sales.

You don't happen to remember where you read about all this, do you?
I'll be mightily pissed off if they do go ahead with the advance sales
and I miss out on a ticket...

I too am a Surrey member, and haven't had any "official" confirmation.

I don't recall, I'm afraid. A newspaper, probably. And it could have
been for the 4th or 5th Test rather than the 6Th.
