I would be very interested to see what our system would clock him at
now. I find it hard to believe he is 5 km/h faster than he was a
couple of years ago.

The system used in India to measure the new record is an untested system and
not the one by the South African company EDH Speedball, which has been in
operation for 6 years and has a certificate of accuracy from their National
Standards Authority.
We are entering dangerous territory if we allow any untested system to claim
World Records.
Be that as it may congratulations to SA for the record.

So we can't even compare this with previously known speed figures, who knows
what method they used. Has anyone heard mention of why the usual speed radar
wasn't working? Was there some "Fat Potato type fellow blocking it perhaps"
;-)

Besides, why should bowling speed be more than something for fans to
talk about? Bowling FAST doesn't equate to bowling WELL.
Who's the slowest out of Lee, McGrath, Akthar and Ntini?
Now... who's the BEST out of those four?
Here is a fact that you might not be aware of. The radars were giving exactly
the same speed most of the time.
Another ball was reported 159.9 by TV radar while it was 160 by ***link link
radar. Almost exact.
