SFO Bay Area: Cricket at the Brit (Ind-Windies)

Folks,

I talked with the proprietor of the Brittania Arms pub in Cupertino last
night. He confirmed that they will indeed be having the England-Windies
ODI matches live.  The cover charge will be between $5 and $10 per
game.  He said he's hoping there will be enough interest and he's
maintaining a sign-up sheet at the bar for people who are interested to
give their names and phone numbers.

The Brit is on S.De Anza Blvd (and Rollingdell drive), about 1/4 mile
north of the bridge over Highway 85 (which has a DeAnza Blvd exit).
DeAnza and Sunnyvale-Saratoga roads are the same.

These games will be played 9:30am - 5:30 pm EST (6:30am - 2:30pm PST):
Sunday 29th March, Wednesday 1st April, Saturday 4th April
These games will be played 10:30am - 6:30pm EST (7:30am - 3:30pm PST):
Sunday 5th April, Wednesday 8th April.

I find it very hard to believe that The Brit will be showing anything
other than Man United at Blackburn on Saturday the 4th of April at 7am
PST. For one thing, he's a rabid Blackburn fan, and for another, I,
and a lot of others, will be very annoyed if he elects to show an ODI
instead. For that matter, the 1st of April is the European Cup
semi-final first leg. If United are in that, expect that to take
precedence too.

5th April - that's FA Cup semi-final day... On the plus side for
cricket fans, if United are in the cup semis, then there won't be a
game on the 4th :-)

cheers,

Rohan [ Brit regular ]

live audio commentary only

Ah, while I'm a Brit regular, I never go there to watch footer. So you
could well be right. My being there is pretty much an unknown too .. my
plans for the next couple months are not very clear.

Well, you guys are a couple of wet blankets! I plan to be there with bells
on. (Actually with my West Indies WSC shirt on). Any other Bay Area fans
planning to be there?

Another Bay Area cricket fan reporting to duty!! I'll certainly be there
watching every game, and cheering Lara and the lads... unfortunately, it just
might be that we West Indian supporters will not be exactly served with
promptness, it being a British pub and all, but we plod on, what!!:-)
