Craig McDermott - Give it Away!

[Michael Cullen has recruited a few people from rec.sport.football.australian
so i guess id better start getting vocal. Thanks Michael :) ]

Craig McDermott, the poor guy is more injury prone then a 90yo granny in a 6
storey house. Can Australia afford to keep propping him up? it seems he can
only play without injury on home soil but as soon as he gets on a plane, he
turns into jelly (maybe he's been*** around with the Adelaide Crows?)

The problem is we dont really have anyone to replace him, Gillespe is pretty
***y inconsistant and ooh-aah needs some real pace coming from the other
end.

With Brad Williams back in the Vic Squad, maybe we might see some real
pace entering the aussie attack this season? Granted, he is often too short
but could he at least have a chance. The opposition will probably be so
surprised to see some actual pace coming from an Australian that it might
just work.

My 2c worth.

Yeah, 58 FC wickets at 24.48, pretty inconsistent. Still, once he
gains some consistency....

As Dennis Lillee said the other day, there is much more to effcetive
bowling at Test level than just pace. Very few Test class batsmen are
dismissed on good wickets just by the pace of a bowler. Sure, pure
pace is a very handy asset, but it is not all that is required.
