Indian Sportsmanship

As far as the above is concerned THIS IS NONE EXISTENT.

Through the current test the Indian players have continued to verbally
abuse the South African players and it is no suprise that the crowd's
behave like they do when there heroes set such a bad example.

A few months before in the Semi-Final of the world cup against Sri Lanka
where Clive Lloyd of WI had to call the game off because of crowd
disturbance. Surely if this continues India should not be allowed to host
international cricket matches for a year or two.

Cricket is a gentlemans game which the Indian player don't play as such.

And being South African you'd know all about being a gentleman, right?

What's next?  A lecture on "human rights"?

How it infuriate me that you judge a book by it cover.
Simply because you don't disagree with my message and cannot argue against
it
doesn't mean you need to change the topic. Here a idea, don't say anything.

Don't avoid my message. Reply to the the behaviour of your team. These are
facts at hand. Taking cheap shots does nothing to enhance the image of
Indian cricket.

As far as umpiring decisions goes both sides got bad decisions. Even Cronje was
caught but wasn't given out. I dunno if any Indian player involved in shouting
at SA cricketrs. If u have a look at Titan Cup finals recording u'll find
Symcox shouting at anything and every thing including his gloves. He threw his
bat after being stumped. Also have a look at the India SA test match in 1993
which India lost. There were 6 bad decisions all against India. Indians ignored
it. SA press condemned that win. Why Kapil Dev in that series allowed Peter
Kerstin to get away with his running twice while he was trying to steel
singles. When he made him run out, Kepler Wessels hit Kapil with his bat while
taking a second run. I am not justifying the crowd behaviour. But that doesn't
mean Indians are bad. Let's not loose our cool.

Yeah right. Pakistan, England, Australia...... they all play with saints
in their team. Infact Iindia is finally learning the tricks, that until
now was called Gamesmanship, championed by none other than WG Grace
himself, who definitely was not an Indian (and thank God for small
mercies)!!
Actually whenever we do well, you all want to find excuses. When the
incompetent and undertalented England team lost to the Pakis, ball
tampering became an issue, all of a sudden. And when England captain was
openly caught cheating, pocketing the filth in their approach, he was
considered team-man and a selfless captain. What double standards!!
Inidans are passionate people and love their game, not merely the money in
it. And hey, they don't cheat. They don't dirty the game or not even the
ball.
We have the most talented batsman in the world in Sachin Tendulkar and the
most successful bowler in Anil Kumble. So back up and and look for answers
to them and not be a *** and make up unnecessary controversies.
(Let me not even go into the topic of English soccer fans.)
Good luck and happy renovation of attitude.

Finally someone was Grace-full enough to speak the truth. Those
losers need to be shown reality and how to accept defeats.
I know it's tough when India, Pakistan and SL are all doing so well
and so called founders like Englans are at the abyss of failure and disGrace.

And how does one pinpoint India for the verbal abuse when every other team
has been doing hese for ages. I don't remember Indians adopting the
body-line strategy.

So jog up your memory and learn to be ashamed of your fore-fathers.
Accept defeat with Grace.

Dear Maverick,

having watched most of the test and not seeing Indians verbally
abusing Sa players, nor having heard any such complaint from the SA
players (you know, the S Africans actually ON the field), I would have
to say that you are the one showing bad sportsmanship.

I wouldn't have thought that it was any worse than "Aussie" or "Kiwi" or
"Pom". I'm more than happy to be called an "Aussie".
