Pattinson will be back in and MJ will be the 12 also.

Will Hughes last innings save him ?  Watson will be in and I would have
him opening.

Wade or Haddin ???  neither are good enough to play just as batsman

2 spinners = twice as much bowling that India love

Ok, will name the side I would pick :

Watson
Warner
Cowan
Clarke
Smith
Haddin
Maxwell
Johnson
Pattinson
Siddle
XD ( for his gutsy batting )

if Clarke doesnt play would drop Maxwell and bring in Moses and Lyons

Now for the Ashes I wouldnt have in the squad :

Watson ( unless he is fit to bowl )
Warner
Cowan
Smith
Hughes
XD
Lyons
Maxwell
Moses H

I would select the team on the basis of an essay competition

"I should be in the team because .....  "

I'm saving my Arses squads (Mine & Theirs) until after the two big games of the weekend, the Shield final & T4 from India. But while idling over this season's Shield stats I noticed something of interest.... In the batting stats, if you set a minimum of 250 runs then SPIT comes in 12th. In descending average here's the top 12. See if you notice what I did.

RT Ponting      (Tas)
MC Henriques    (NSW)
PJ Hughes       (SA)
BJ Haddin       (NSW)
CJL Rogers      (Vic)
AJ Doolan       (Tas)
JW Wells        (Tas)
MJ Cosgrove     (Tas)
CJ Ferguson     (SA)
UT Khawaja      (Qld)
BCJ Cutting     (Qld)
SPD Smith       (NSW)

Pray, tell, what did you notice?

What I noticed:
a) Players selected for the full summer Test series don't figure,
unremarkably as they were unavailable for the majority of the SS season
b) The retired Ponting still easily has what it takes at that level
c) Henriques and Haddin had an excellent aggregates given their batting
positions, especially as NSW had so many games adversely affected by
weather
d) Hughes scored enough to push for the recall that he got
e) Rogers and Ferguson obviously aren't seen as long term test prospects
f) In Doolan and Wells Tasmania seem to have something for the future
g) Both Khawaja and Smith barely did enough to get tour berths
h) Cosgrove is still too fat to be considered
i) WA had a horror slump and don't feature at all
j) Cutting bats well for a bowler

Did I miss anything?

Warner and Watson would be automatic picks. Henriques would be a lot
more handy in England with his bowling than in India.

Since there's nothing to play for, we should *** Rohit and Rahane in
place of SRT and the injured Dhawan. And now that he's fit, Umesh
Yadav should replace the chronically ineffectual Ishant (not that
Kumar inspires confidence as a Test player).

Reality. And talent, brains, good looks and a decent sized ***. But
reality is the biggie.

Arses 'bolter'. If Jordan Silk (Tas) gets decent runs in the final he's a
chance for the bolter spot. Aged 20, opens the batting and is averaging 60
after his two Shield games. He's also scored well in the DODO & U23s; Oh,
and he's a Penrith boy & NSW U19 rep. Not that that would count for
anything... Hopefully the Final's streamed on Foxsports so I can get a look
at him.

A Qld player got picked for India ahead of 4 or 5 players from other
states who have a better average?

I'm pretty sure there are no QLD players playing for India.

I doubt any of the players Alvery listed are playing for India, and he
didn't mention the I... word.

But carry on in your usual mode: Can't attack what was said? No
problem, fabricate something that wasn't said that and have a go at
that.

In an attempt to not leave you in a state of paranoid delusion, you said "A Qld player got picked for India ahead of [others]".
