he really needs to knuckle down a bit more and take a long, hard look at
himself !!

If England's batsmen show the same weakness, I'll be happy. :)

With this innings, he has become the only Test batsman who has been
out three times in the 190s, putting him ahead of all the pikers who
have only managed it twice:

Md Azharuddin       199 & 192
IM Chappell         196 & 192
HH Gibbs            196 & 192
BC Lara             196 * 191
ME Trescothick      194 & 193
MP Vaughan          197 & 195
EdeC Weekes         197 & 194
Younis Khan         199 & 194

SR Tendulkar has a 193 and a 194*, and FMM Worrell has a 197* & 191*.

In Worrell's case, he was declared on by FCM Alexander for the 197* at
a time when there was absolutely nothing left in the match: England
got through 40 overs of their second innings before the match finished
as a draw. The 191*, on the other hand, is an instance of an opener
carrying his bat.

Cheers,

Mike

Two of England's batsmen do (see my other post), but both are
currently unfit for one reason or another.

An obvious reason to bring back Ramprakash, who has performed this feat
three times in his first-class career.

Blimey.  Seeing you apparently replying to yourself, I thought for a moment
there that you must have responded to one of the nutters in my killfile.

*** It warms the***les of the heart to know that most of these 190s
are recent. Finally, the quality of bowling and pitches is high enough.
Yay. Note comments by Mohammed "WG ka Baap" Yousuf during the Lahore
Test.

Sigh. Id've been happy to get out in the 190'a in a Test just once....
