Sledging!!!!

Sledging!!!!

With all accussations going round, the bad reputation that the
Australians have in connection to this matter, the verbal incident
between Donald and Dravid, I wonder what exactly is this sledging all about.

How is it that the players sledge one another, and how does one reply?

Miandad would give as much as he would get, Richards would let the bat do
the talking. What exactly happens is what i want to find out??

Anyone?

Actually , Richards talked with his mouth too..:) but backed it up with his bat.:)
Read somewhere that once when Len Pascoe was bowling to him in a test, Richards whacked
him for a four and said "Bread Lennie Bread". The predictable bouncer followed and
after Richards swung that for a four he goes "Butter Lennie Butter". Another ball,
another bouncer, same result. Richards says "Jam Lennie Jam" :-)

cheers

Another one which i really liked was one in which Gordon Greenidge was facing Wayne Daniel in English County cricket. Daniels bowls a bouncer and Greenidge hooks it for a four. Daniel gives Greenidge a stare..and goes back. The next ball is a yorker and Greenidge smashes it straight past the bowler for four. He then looks up at Daniel and goes... "Don't try that kid stuff on me again ok?" or words to taht effect.:-)

cheers

Sledging!!!!

Graeme Hick goes sledging in the Malverns when it snows. Sometimes he takes
his bats with him and they go sledging too, on little bat sized toboggans.

Honest, Thomas, that glue *isn't* meant for sniffing...
