My God! Just look at that scorecard! This must be one of the best batting
performances ever by any side! Other instances i can recall of a side getting
600 or close to it losing 4 wkts or less

903-7 decl Eng Vrs Aus (1931?)
600-4 decl Ind Vrs Aus (1984, Sydney)
***-* WI vrs Pak (1957 Sobers made 365 no, I am not sure of the final score)

When is India playing England next?

In recent memory there are at least 2 instances.

[after following on as I recall]

This might also be an instance.

Close of 2nd day's play at Lords - Scorecard

One interesting feature for the statisticians to pursue would be to find out
how many times have the top 5 batsmen crossed 50 runs in the same inings.
One can remember many instances where the top 4 batsman have crossed 50
in the same inings. To name a few which come to my memory:
                 1. Eng vs Ind at Madras, 1984
                 2. Ind vs Pak at Madras, 1987
I am sure there are many more...
Maybe Border & his have acheived a world record. Keep it up folks..

iisnt this the same match in which hanif made 337, that was at bridgetown
in 1957 and pak declared at 657/8.

Another instance close to 600 is Pak 581/3 declared against India
at Hyderabad when Miandad and Muddassar made that 451 runs partnership.

Would anyone be kind enough to give out the details as to who
was the major scorer and the results of each of the above
    mentioned test matches.
