It's Sri Lanka's and West Indies's turn now!

OK, we have had allegations casted or proved in Pakistan, India, Australia,
England, South Africa. Now some one has to come up in West Indies and Sri
Lanka to complete the web. Of course, I'm not counting Zimbabwe, New Zealand
and Bangladesh for obvious reasons :-).

Let's start from 99' WC and 5-0 in RSA, respectively :-).

The truth is out there.

I'm perversely glad that it's not a matter of sub-continent only anymore.

Okay... I'll confess. The WICB has been accepting money to mismanage WI
cricket for years now and that's a fact.

I sort of wish that it was dishonesty, but Im pretty sure that
it was boneheaded incompetence. After all. year before we lost 3-
0 to Pakis-hmmm, There maybe something there!. After all, the WI
could not be THAT bad-could they?
Unfortunately, before we put on our *** hats, there are
two things we know-
1.There is absolutly no proof that WI player has even approached.
and
2. The WI can and have been that bad, without any financial
incentive whatsover.
I remember the 5-1 pasting in Australia in 1975-6,not to mention
the 51 vs Aus last year.Im sure that I can think of other horror
stories, but frankly i dont want to.

It's surprising too, considering how poor (or "brokes" as we say here) the
Caribbean people are.  You'd have thought they'd be the first to jump at
money.  But I think the pride of the 15 year unbeaten streak was enough to
tell all the bookies where to stick it if they came calling.  After all,
there aren't many major achievements other than cricket that the West Indies
as a whole can be proud of.

That these players are poor are certainly not true. They are in fact
well paid for a Caribbean sportsmen. I do not know the exact amount they
recieve, but a senior player can get a lot of money simply touring
England. Kenny and others would be glad to gave you an estimate of WI
player's earning.

Not all WI players played for the pride. Some players like money too
much like Croft who jump at the chance of touring South Africa in the
day of Botha.

Cheers
Zito.
