Final Analysis (Indian would be bowlers!)

Final Analysis (Indian would be bowlers!)

Hi fans:

As most of you know Irani, Duleep and Deodhar trophy matchs
were the selection matchs for the few spots that will be available
in the near future. That was the reason why no stand-bys were
announced for the Hero cup. Based on the Hero cup and these domestic
matchs, a new team will be announced for the Ind vs Sri Lanka series
to be played in India in Jan-Feb '94. Here is an analysis of the
bowlers that were on trial in the above trophy.

******* --> Either didn't play or their team lost by an innings.

Carry Over:- On top of these matchs, V.Prasad had an excellent match against
the touring England side. He was rated as the best bowler of that
            match from both side.

Conclusion:-From the above analysis the two players who can be short listed
are: 1) Bhupinder Singh, 2) Venkatesh Prasad. If one goes by
pure numbers Bhupinder has a slight edge over V.Prasad. But
               one thing
which will go against Bhupinder is his age. Sports star says he
is 29 years old. If that is true [which I think is] for any
bowler to make his debut, [especially in India] it is too late.
The reason is, it will take atleast 2 year after he makes his
debut to mature into an international bowler.
              So by then Bhupinder
will be 31, then he is only left with 2 or 3 years of cricket.
This I think is a waste of time since we have so many other
talents available. So taking this and V.Prasad's performance
against England, his age, my obvious choice will be       none
              other than VENKATESH PRASAD.

Bye Now
