Greg Blewett slaughters the QLDERS

WOW.

What can one say to some of the best ever batting that has the critics, the
writers, and cricket selectors and fans worldwide, in awe at the latest
double century undefeated by the continually prolific greg blewett

On the eve of being selected in PADDY's India and English tour squads his
260 not out to absolutely save SA against the qlders, will reinforce his
selection in the squads, anmd proves that undoubtedly he is in the top 5
batsmen in this country, behind only the waughs, gilly and others.

Well done again Greg, what a knock

Continually?  How did he go in his first half-a-dozen matches this season?
How did he go in the first innings of this particular match?  *LOL*

Nice to see Blewett being selected for the touring supporters parties.

LOL only serves to show how pathetic they were in their 1st innings getting
rolled by a 3rd string Qld attack so cheaply.  IMO they should have scored
500+ first up!  But that's OK, I like it when Qld win :).

I didn't see the innings by Blewett - anyone besides the sycophant here want
to give an accurate rating of how good it really was?

Blewett is a good FC player and that is it. He is not een a great AFC player
b/c he doesn't average 50+ like Lehmann, Bevan, Law, etc.

However being good or great at FC level doesn't mean you can cut it at
international level. Blewett  and Bevan have hopeless techniques against the
world's best bowlers and will never play test and in Blewett's case ODI
cricket again

In a hundred years time if someone looked at Beva's stats in test cricket
they will thimk he was a mediocre bowler who occasionally made a good score
with the bat. As for Blewett they will wonder why he was recalled so often
when there are batsman like (Martyn, Katich, Hussey, Love, Maher, Law,
Lehmann, Hodge, Cox, Elliot, etc. who are all out of the test team)

Good thing you're not one of the national selectors. I don't think even they
would be as stupid as to select Blewett on a tour to India. Blewett must be one
of the worst players of spin of all-time. Can handle pace bowling, could have
succeeded in this series if selected, but many far better rounded players than
him.

Exactly right, but that doesn't make him top 5. Especially so as those 'others'
include about 7 others
(BTW of course Gilchrist isn't a totally proven player against top quality
opposition- his average will drop and is dropping)

(who thinks if he had been selected in that game may have done a bit better
than Brendan)

:-) I understand he is a composite being, one 'Others' in many persons, which
PADDY may be able to understand in trinitarian terms (I presume he is Catholic)
