Ind vs RSA and Aus vs RSA tour

australia will play four or five matched before they play there first
test match in RSA.  India played only one before their first test.

how are these matches determined.  i would think that the respective
boards negotiate this.  it seems to me that in order to squeez lots of
test matches and ODI indian board doesn't bother about practice matches
and the result shows up in poor performance of indian team in test
matches in ODIs.

same story in WI.  india will play (TBA) only one practice match before
taking on mighty WI with lara, ambrose and walsh!!! may god give indian
board and selectors some wisdom and good luck to indian team in WI.

No question about that. This is the worst part of Indian Board. Typical
desi mentality. In a short period of time we want to make large amount of
money. Dont care for players. They are just the slaves of the Indian
board. They have to obey whatever the board instructs them to do. Dont
question about any thing. If you question about any thing you will be
liable for disciplinary action.

I just now saw the schedule for Aus in Eng 1997 May to Aug. They have
around 8 to 10 matches before they play their First Test.

Same thing goes for the preparation of Pitches which suit Fast bowling.
Generally in most of the Ranji trophy matches you see only 5 to 10 overs
are being bowled by pace bowlers and  the rest by the spinners. In that
case every player is discouraged of fast bowling because of the state of
the pitches. I have not seen any ranji trophy team having more than 2
pace bowlers. Then how can we generate fast bowlers. Right now there is
no replacement for srinath or prasad even if they fail continuosly. The
basic underlying fact is preparing and maintaining  pitches like WACA or
the Durban  cost more and our board doesnt want to spend money.  If this
is the way Indian board treats the domestic  and the international
cricket, then I am sure our team's performances will go to a lowest
level(Right now  I dont think that we are at the bottom).

Knowing the fact that our players dont play well on the fast bowling
tracks, Still Indian board accepts a schedule  with one or two first
class matches before the  First test and no first class matches between
the tests.

I dont know when these guys start acting smart.

Hoping for India doing well in the final, in Zim, and in WEst indies.

The same thing happened when Australia went to India.  One three day
warm up game, followed by the test match, then after that was out of the
way on to the all important (sarcasm) ODI series.

It seems to be an Indian phenomenom.  The Windies and Pakis had
reasonable warm ups here over the summer, and in SA the Aussies have
a very good warm up schedule.
